This bridge project would make the Horn of Africa one of the biggest economic centres in the world. Not only would it be beneficial to East Africa, it would benefit Africa's economy as a whole. I will try to be more informed about this project when construction begins in 2009.

I am not talking about Islam. Is that your concern? Religion is a concept and its ok if thats what you believe. Humanity evolved over millions of years. There was never such a thing as a "creator". The so called wise men who told the stories meant well. There never is nor was such a thing as paradise. Those religious guys had no idea of how old the earth was, nor of the planetary system or prehistoric periods. Some religious people even believed the earth was flat and condemned Galileo.

Your threatning dcomment proves my point. You completely miss the point to develop societies for the benefit of people not supressed by dogma and the fear of literacy. Open your eyes and look around you and just look at the state so many of these people live in. Religion of whatever persution have many dark sides too it. Make sure you are not corrupted by your own blindness.

Interesting concept but Djibouti is not Denmark and Yemen not Sweden. Get literacy then healthcare, democracy, woman vote. A free press, judiciary independent of rulers and dictators. Islam needs reform to bring it into the modern world and free thinking to challenge the old ideologies. How will they stem the mass flow of people travelling from Africa into the Middle East. African regimes are bedevilled by corruption with no end in sight for the betterment of the people
