Don't know if we were spared from seeing him in decay. He was pretty fucked up by the time he died.

guten tag i don't relate to what u say, I belive Eric Clapton has NOT reproduced his great works (70's) since, Cream and slighlty later, if you read Patti Boyd's His wife's auto bio it shows you how she saved him from selfdistruct, but I must ask, was it worth it- creatively speaking of course!

yes re the longevity of such a talent, i think they are like a firework they burn hard and short, it's all concentrated into a short blast of unbelievable creativity... makes it so sweet, they know what it's all about ..all the most creative types know when they can't give any more...

Your memory forever Rory!! If I could play half of what you've forgotten how to play I'd be a happy man!

I was at the same concert at Newcastle City Hall in 1973 ... as an exchange student from the states. Rory Gallager is the greatest live performer I ever saw.

Your are right--they are not all unable to cope. Good point--however, more of the greats seem to lsoe their way than stay on it. I was just lamenting Hendrix, Joplin, Rory, and so many that were unable to last and forgot the few stronger ones who did. Thanks. |
