I'm not saying this video isnt helpful, but cops have plenty of rights of their own, like 'reasonable suspicion', 'in plain view', etc. Even if the search was illegal you will still be in jail til it goes to court. Maybe if you are rich and can afford your own lawyer you can get it thrown out of court. If you have to rely on a public defender like most of us, you are probably going to jail. There were plenty of people in jail right now whose rights were violated when they wrere arrested. :-(

Where I live - If you dont show ID when asked it gives the cops the right to take you in to find out who you are and make sure you dont have any outstanding warrents. If you dont consent to a car search they call in a dog. If the dog even sniffs your care once the cop will say the dog 'indicated' on your car, which gives them the right to search. If you dont consent to a house search they will say the smelled marijuana inside your house, which gives them the right to search.
