in Italy peolpe uder 6 and over 65 have free medicines, free assistance in hospitals and medical outpatients' departments. No one is left without cure while ariving at an hospital, the states (here called regions) are in charge of all expenses. Life saving operations are free for everybody. Families which have a total annual income less than €36,000($42,000)are exempted to pay many medicines, have free assistance by a family doctor, and get most of the medical examinations free.

My God! I just bought the DVD and I watched the movie. I saw how the US health system is (although it seems there is not a real one unique) but I still don't understand the following: WHY? Why they do that to people? Unbelievable, I am just suprised and shocked.

I have had experience with the system in Britain. I've seen the rationing of health care through long wait times and by the simple DENIAL of care for ailments not on a list approved by the government. (a list that keeps getting shorter and shorter) . You end up paying for 2 health care systems, the public one and a private one. The warning I gave was only for Americans. Americans who have seen the incompetence of bureaucratic ineffective govt agencies that do little more than suck up money.

How about you try living in these countries w/ socialized medicine before you criticize it. Here in Canada, yes we may have to pay a little more in taxes, but that way we'll be ensured that we'll get care no matter what. Paying a little more doesn't take the shit out of us, so why are so many Americans like you bitching about paying a little more? Don't give me that crap exuse of paying for "lazy" people. It's called helping those who need help. We don't need a warning, we're living fine up here

Fuck you. My family is a hardworking middle class family yet still, because the way our system "works", my brother died. We payed the bills sure, but because our system is based on money and not helping the sick, my brother, at three years of age, died. Fuck the "paying for 'lazy' people" bullshit, our system is broken anyways. Maybe if a lot of Americans weren't heartless they'd realize maybe it's okay to help some people out.
