Yup. Chet put Gretch guitars on the map. ANY self respecting guitar would die to have Chet's name emblazoned across it. Chet was THE MASTER. He stood head and shoulders above. A giant. A legend.

Yeah that guy thetubeisgr8 isn't that smart, I didn't know much about Chet until recently and seeing his music I instantly fell in love with the man. He plays such beautiful music and looks so happy doing it. Plus he played a Gretsch guitar like me. I play a G3303 Grand Concert Historic edition baby! Made in Savannah, Georgia :D

more years??? Your statement is so laughable that it is pathetic. Chet's name is literally SYNONYMOUS with guitar. Chet=guitar in the minds of the educated. And you see one video of him, don't like it, and form an instant judgment on decades of accomplishment playing in every music venue including some of the most renowned symphony orchestras in the world? Chet proved himself for DECADES. Who are you little man? You're a wart on the hand of opinions about who is who in the world of guitar.

with Elvis, Hank Williams and other legends, playing sideman, and he literally INVENTED finger style guitar. He has won DOZENS of grammys and other awards and recorded hundreds of albums over the decades. He has millions of fans all over the world trying to imitate his unique style and is admired by just about every guitarist who is worth anything. Hundreds of guitarists name him as their greatest inspiration, and he's the Father of many of us. And you have the IGNORANCE to say he needs twenty

Freedom of speech? Well speak THIS. I have been playing guitar for 30 years..you admit you don't play one. So what the Fuck do you know about the thing?? Your mouth spumes all this froth about how Chet needed twenty more years to learn to play, and that statement is puke. Chet was outplaying most guitarists of today at age twenty! During his 60 year career he literally put guitar back on the map. Guitar makers clamored to name their guitars after him. He was there in the early sessions

That's gotta be one of the least educated statements I've ever read on the internet. Chet Atkins was universally regarded as a guitar master and genius. He inspired thousands with his beautiful, emotive, and fluid playing. And he played for quite a long time -- his career was almost 60 years long. RIP, Mr. Guitar. You were truly an original, and you'll be sorely missed forever.

And I'm not through yet! This is garbage! Their tiny opinion is dung. My daddy brought me up on Mr Guitars music, and when they put down Chet, the master they put down my daddy! I would claw this persons eyes out of their sockets if I met them. This person is the king of fools! Can't even play a guitar, yet can tell all of us what it should sound like. Well prove it! We'll give you a guitar and you show us how it's played. Yeah right! They wouldn't even know how to tune it!

Yes. Chet has stood on his on for decades. This person who comes in here and puts down Mr guitar is making a total ass of themself. As if their minute little opinion changes decades of guitar HISTORY. This person is SPITTING IN THE WIND. How can they criticize someone who has PROVEN them self for 40 years and say he "needs 20 years more practice when the person them self doesn't know a guitar from their own asshole? When they earn as many awards as Chet did, maybe then they can instruct.

Well said. Chet can stand on his own.

Free speech isn't dead. Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from criticism. In an open forum, ideas stand or fail on their own merits or lack thereof.
