man how do i love this song. only due to this movie of course but it is now a classic to me. rob realy has a way with scenes and music no suprise though. sad ending to be sure vivakatj. but it suited to thier life. live as is rather then live like dogs.

I always cry when I watch the end of this movie. No matter how "twisted" the family came off to everyone, in their eyes, they were a normal family. And i think this really shows it, especially with the flashback homemovie type thing. It sort of shows their normal side, which makes it all the more tragic. It's sort of nice that they died fighting, rather than being tortured.

i suppose you can look at it as, the fun loving southern party is over and now they're dead (at the moment the solo ends). one doesn't really want to rock out till the end with assholes. at the same time i hate hearing freebird being cut off, but it does strike you a bit at the moment because of jarring stop of rock awesomeness. that would be my guess as to why it was done anyways.
