It's nothing to do with 'how stupid Manuel is'! It's the fact that Manuel is made to look stupid by Basil not because he is intellectually challenged, but simply because 'he can't even speak English? What is he; an idiot?' Every character in the series tells you a little more about Basil in how he treats them. He's the animus of the stubborn, angry Brit of bygone yeats that's still inside most of us somewhere deep down, manifested into hilarious satire.

I'm 16 and find this hilarious, and before you assume I'm some kind of Big Brother-watching 'Friends' fan...I'm not, I watch a massive amount of comedy..so don't try to speak for an entire generation when you say you don't find this funny...bet you Fawlty Towers will still be outselling any sitcom that's around today in ten years' time!
