Clip from episode 25 of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. After a bill outlawing secret police squads is passed, Section 9 is dissolved by (quite excessive :P) force and goes on the run. With all the members except Motoko and Batou captured, Batou heads to one of Motoko's safehouses, in the hope of regrouping with her. However, the safehouse is a trap, and the military moves in to neutralise Batou. Meanwhile, the remaining tachikomas (the rest having been dismanteled after being sent to the labs due to their developing sentience) also regroup, but back at the ruins of Section 9 HQ. They decide to try and find Batou to help him, but will they arrive soon enough?

this is the BEST scene in GITS:SAC ahh i love it lol this is random, but that statue of Virgin Mary outside of Motoko's safe house is really pretty, and now i want one haha ^.^

Yeah, then the last one decides to run up from behind and hit the soldier with the grenade as hard as he can

True, but that is a military grade armoured suit, hacking into the system and uploading a virus to that or bypassing it to get to the pilot's brain would take time and be rather difficult.... you never see Sec9 members using this technique. I still agree that Batou didn't have to kill him though

The guy Batou killed was not a terrorist. He was a japanese soldier working for a corrupt politician and he did not know it . So when SparkamusPryme said "He (Batou) could have just knocked the armored pilot out or uploaded a virus into the pilots brain, and then just gutted the armored suit with that grenade." he is damn right. Let's avoid unnecessary deaths to not make the situation worse.

My most favorite series in the world besides Resident Evil is Ghost In the Shell, but I absolutely HATE all the episodes where Tachikomas get blown to shit!! DX

They fight terrorists. They can't afford to play nice.

Well, most members of section 9 are kind of dickish in their own way, at least the ones with a strong military background. You have to remember that these are some seriously damaged individuals.

Batou is kinda a dick here. He could have just knocked the armored pilot out or uploaded a virus into the pilots brain, and then just gutted the armored suit with that grenade. Instead, Batou executes the poor guy! Umibozu soldiers haven't killed a single Sec 9 member, so it's not like Batou has a good reason to be super pissed at this pilot for following orders. Harsh. Don't mess with Batou, I suppose.

Even unarmed the Tachikomas are so awesome. But this fight was so unfair. The Tachikomas would have PWNED the Arm suits fully armed. It was very sad to watch them do this. It would be like children with only one grenade between 3 of them taking on a fully trained and armed Military officer, and the grenade won't arm.
