too bad they only demonstrate muay boran, since it's too dangerous to use in a competition. very few people even get to learn this, and fewer can teach it officially, so it's hard to find a teacher. the only one i know is very selective too...pity

well the thing is, this is what Muay Thai came from. Muay Thai is the watered down version of this, Muay Boran. They did so because Muay Boran is a very deadly martial art, by limiting certain moves, they brought Muay Thai in for competition.

Muay Chaiya is the Southern Thailand style. It focuses on defense and posture, using mostly knees and elbows.
