You´re right; the Rolling Stones started as a coverband especially of Chuck Berry Songs. But I think, in the meantime (well, its been 30 years or so) they did a lot of own work.

smoking is just a part of their persona, just a part of the whole 60's rock 'n roll essence. keith richards is actually advised not to EVER stop smoking or drinking, lest his body goes to a shock and ceases function..... an urban myth maybe, but might be true if it is keith. besides the french smoke, and still has a higher life expectancy than the Yanks!!!
