Physics is the best way in my opinion to prove that a real-time 3D tracking is indeed correct. This video is old stuff actually, you may notice there are no virtual shadows on this one (there are some on other videos) so something is missing but the result is still quite cool, isn't it ?

It's an old video not done with Youtube in mind at the time.

Why there is no sound or vocal explanations?

it would be awesome if someone had a ryuk model and used in augmented reality to creep people out....

There are at the moment many very different techniques for similar effects.

i think the EyeToy for PS3 has the same mecanics

Such a technology is called haptic technology, and it is still a bit too geek even for us, I'm afraid !

that's sweet. it would be cool if you could synthesize resistance resistance when touching an object, so that not only do you effect objects in the virtual image, they would effect you.

hi, i was wondering if you would be interested in combining my fluid dynamics simulations with this. for example, having cups and bowls in the scene and being able to scoop up water with a virtual cup.

Holy shit!

The objects are pre-programmed (shape and/or texture, depending on the algorithm we use). Once the computer know that, you can move them freely.
