How do you think Duke would have done as a boxer?

hehe, well i reread my stuff and with back arm i meant the left arm for the right kick, dependingOnAngle (so not throwing back the arm on the same side of the kick, except with a diagonally upward kick you can create more momentum with it), so maybe we won't agree at all. But that's ok man,i understand your view.I used to kick like this,i tried and thought,i compared results, etc. But,no problem as long as we try to improve and think for ourselves,You do what suits you. Good luck anyways to you^^

I think we're arguing the same point, dude. I was talking about the back arm too. Front arm makes no sense. Back arm carries the momentum through, then the muscular snap creates more force. I've trained Muay Thai for a long time, you seem to know your stuff! That makes a refreshing change on here, most are armchair athletes with bad attitudes! Safe.

...Anyway i have studied both ways and after some years i came to this conclusion. I always used to throw my arm back, but after thinking about it it isnt logical. However when you would kick diagonally upwards, then you could create momentum by throwing your arm backwards.

The hardest impact that can be delivered is a straight one. When his leg is bent, then you should kick diagonally for a straight impact. About the impact thing, bas rutten tells that stuff too in his vids. IF you throw 1 arm back it should rather be your back arm, which creates momentum, ever tried that? Plus when you throw your front arm back you also have no defense there. I've seen people who would take the kick and knock the other one out. you cant defend it with the other arm descently...

muay thai is diffeent look it up in vids and but go mma

That's it dude, it has to be diagonal. The short range ones you're hardly kicking at all, just kind of jumping your weight in, focussing it through your shin, still has that twist though, whilst nodding your weight over it. That's a leg breaker, no matter who you are. He's not that accurate, what you talking about? The arm coming back is essential, especially in the long range kicks.you're NOT working against your hip, just takes training. The top drives the bottom and vice versa. Trust bro..
