when i said he abandoned it i should have been more clear about what i meant. i meant he abandoned the classical traditions that kept it from evolving. bruce lee didnt have an ego or a foolish level of pride that forced him to cling to something that he wished worked like many martial artist do. if all martial artist thought like him imagine what they could accomplish. dont get me wrong though , i think its great to keep some traditions alive to preserve the history of the arts.

Twice removed. supposedly chinese stlyes came from India or somewhere in the middle east. Don't know. But they had a large amount of time to cultivate themselves in okinawa before moving to mainland. And then there's wado ryu that added some japanese jutjutsu techs

he didn't abandon wing chun. It was the core of his fighting style. He just learned stuff around it to cover its weaknesses and didn't use what didn't match his fast strike style(with his fists, which was where he concentrated).

You lost because you were mystified by your con man instructor and his fantasy-based style. This gay shit has never proven effective in any fight except either against a crippled person, a passed out drunk or a coma patient.

true but its more direct and and refined than kung fu. even bruce lee said be direct be fast and be simple. he virtually abandoned his wing tsung because of all the indirect and traditional ways that are still in practice. the science of fighting evolves like any other science and if you dont evolve with it you become extinct or at least obsolete. |
