at some point, AR may even have an effect on how people communicate completely, just like how text messages have changed how younger folk spell through abbreviation. it will combine the tech of mobile phones and the internet and dwarf them all in terms of life changing developements; if only i'd put that patent in...

parent failiure or not, all that motivates kids these days is computer games and cool toys. using tried and tested ways all the time simply wont cut it, and AR will be the future of learning from basic reading right up to particle physics, making the learning process much faster than by current methods; a picture says a thousand words. not just education though, AR tech will change business (meetings, presentations, CAD etc) leisure, tourism, entertainment, navigation on foot or by car etc.

I don't think learning needs to be more fun. If children aren't motivated to learn and encouraged from young then parents are failing at their jobs. More and more we're moving away from natural roles and responsibilities. I love the technology but it should not take the place of traditional learning methods, especially reading.

baidawi - why is it? it'll make learning more fun and more streamlined.

Haha, that's not necessarily a BAD thing :P

To me... its next logical step. Isn't it a cause for concern that they are targeting children first?

they have 3-d video for gaming, I've been wanting it, true color stereovision, be nice to have the display built in the goggles for parallax viewing ,might be easier on optic related muscle over the ancient anaglyph method of creating the illusion of depth on a 2-d plane, which is nice, but after halfway thru a movie, they have you flip the red blue orientation and afterward vision is tinted in each eye and a headache develops.
