Mertons quote on Happiness is an important one, though it seems simple. You have to achieve a harmony and balance to be happy. Too little prayer and to much work is bad . Likewise, too much prayers to neglect ones duty in life. Diminishing returns in all things done too much shows us that despite our hard work we are still limited and in need of Gods grace and help.
