The mighty Winged - Hussars Music: Michael Giacchino -- Age Of War Bill Brown -- UFS Vanguard Krzesimir Dębski -- Obrona Zbaraża With the Battle of Lubiszew in 1577 the 'Golden Age' of the husaria began. Until the Battle of Vienna in 1683, the Polish-Lithuanian hussars fought countless actions against a variety of enemies, and rarely lost a battle. In the battles of Lubiszew in 1577, Byczyna (1588), Kokenhausen (1601), Kircholm (1605), Kłuszyn (1610), Trzciana (1629), Chocim (1673) and Lwów (1675), the Polish-Lithuanian hussars proved to be the decisive factor often against overwhelming odds. In all of these battles, they were victorious despite the fact that the hussars often had fewer men than their opponents. In the Battle of Kluszyn, the Russians had 35,000 troops, Crown of Poland only 6,800. However Poland came out of the battle as the victor. Religious? Maybe, but not fanatic as the western equivalent, which couldn't stand people different faith. Poland developed freedom of faith early on and could accept muslims (lipka tatars), arians and jews, while the rest of Europe slaughtered each other over how to kneel. Nobles had the right to be proud - everyone, from german peasants to jewish merchants fled here in hopes of more freedom and better treatment.

yes friend, just as the first husars werent even closely related because they were - as the name states - Hungarian. Poland had them join, then transformed the light cavalry into the might world will never forget about. Forever Poland and Lithuania! :)

True. After all it was the army of Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the battle of Kircholm. From me, I can add that not all of "Lithuanian" hussars were Lithuanian just as not all soldiers from the Crown were Polish just like You said. And we do have a respect for Lietuva. We fought and died together for few centuries. A fact worthy of remembering. My best wishes to You Zaliakalnis.
