This performance was from 9/15/01. I remeber watching it live. It was a concert planned before 9/11 but they adapted the program to play this as it is used in times of great sadness. I remeber the conductor saying that in England they play Elgar's Nimrod and in America they play Barber's adagio for times of sadness.
