Loved this when it was out + still catch up with it from time 2 time on my old cassette tapes! Easily the best record from a highly competent band who had a striking lead in Corrine and a stylish yet unopposing slant on presenting music.

Her voice reminds me of Sade, whom I used to think could never be touched except by maybe Chaka Khan :) Love this song

One of my favorite songs, she is not even a trained singer and she can out sing the crop of popular singers out there now. Great intro. Her band is one of the best in the business.

goldenpica...I agree that the current pop is crap but this is what is pumped out the airways via heavy monetary contributions. Occasionally a genuinly quality song will make its way to the air ways without the push of the dollar. I'm from the 80's myself and am disgusted at the fact that rap/hip hop has somehow become so mainstream. But remember, the stuff we would listen to was just as foreign to our parents as well. I just enjoy Swing out sister in my own private setting and it take me away.

Totally agree with goldenpica. I can't get out of the 80s because it had talent and taste. What we have now is trash!

I miss that kind of female singer. Nowadays it seems to be all aquestion of who shakes more the ass on camera for the videos or who has the flattest tummy in order to get attention leaving the music behind in importance. Call me an old fashioned old fart, but pop music has gone completely the wrong way, full of talentless people selling rubish to the masses.

Good voice and looks, she reminds me of that gal in the movie Chariots of Fire.

One of the best songs of the 80's. It certainly outdid 'Breakout' Corinne Drewery has such a great voice, deep and rich. She'd be good singing jazz. Love her, love the video. |
