yes, but clave is clave. If you're going to play a "latin tune" and apply clave to it, everyone knows that that you should follow the norm as far as clave goes and everyone knows that Tunisia is 2-3 clave (and no, I'm not a salsa freak) Shorter just didn't know and Blakey didn't correct him, even though he was playing 2-3 "cascara" pattern on the cymbals.
