and they can really relate to today as well about london drowning about the floods in the city as well i think it was last year in a number of songs as well u can really relate to today in there lyrics esp "white man" with "the british army waiting out there" what an amazaing band.

It in no way does this, it shows how Joe was concerned with the world "Nuclear Error" refering to the 3 mile island partial meltdown in Pennsylvania. Wheaties grow thin from famine and drought. London is Drowning which refers to the scares of the Thames flooding. The Clash were concerned about the world as a whole

I definitely think they were not as socially committed as the Clash- the Clash were after all the ones who sold records ridiculously cheap continuously- I am aware The Clash wouldn't exist without the Beatles, but then again the Beatles wouldn't exist without those who've gone before. The Velvet Underground were a better group anyway.
Oh and the Clash weren't claiming to be anarchist, you must be thinking of the Sex Pistols. The Clash were never anarchists.
