I disagree, I think it was mostly a comment on the laziness of society and why so many people are out of shape. Kind of like there are all those adsa about parking at the grocery store, instead of driving in circles looking for the close spot, just park farther away and walk. All the same, this is an amazing parallel to the Hedberg joke. Mitch Hedberg, RIP. Such a double edged sword. Without the drugs, he probably wouldn't have died... and yet, without the drugs, would he have been as funny?
