Meredith Veira shows the type of ignorance that runs interference for humans to ever get near closing the gap in getting next to "wild" animals. The "lunch meat" comment killed any effort she was hoping for. This was her follow-up to a story re: same where she cried at the reunion video. Her go on should have been keyed to how amazing this relationship is and how desperately funds are needed for the care and safety of animals in a wild environment. What a missed opportunity.

I ment all the animals wild or not. They are all God's creation. It's ou duty to treat them with respect. In this case the reward was wonderful, the lion didn'T forget them, wich means he has feelings. I hope that one day everyone can understand this. Please don´t go to Circus with animals.

God bless you John and Ace. You made me feel proud of humankind, and that doesn't happen often. I would give anything to have a hugh like that from this beautiful lion. This is real love. I agree that Meredith didn't give sufficient opportunities to Ace. And her comment on luncheon meat was absolutely dumb. Katie Couric was much better.

I loved this video and story so much!! I've tried to track down anymore info on the 2 men.
