Sorry... Your theory is wrong. Bits of the in-the-making song were used in "The Graduate", I believe. The main characters are Mrs. Robinson, and another much younger man. This puts into play the "Hide it from the kids," "God Bless you please Mrs. Robinson," and "Jesus loves you more than you will know."
The Joe DiMaggio part was an added part when they finished the song.
The Graduate also features "The Sound of Silence" and "Scarbourough/Canticle"

Ummm, your theory is wrong then. Its already a known fact what this song is about. The title was originally set as "Mrs. Roosevelt", and all of the lyrics are about the past times that S&G grew up with.

i think that these 2 ppl simon and garfunkel(?) were completely drunk and met some old lady on the street named mrs robinson and decided to write a song on her, thats my theory
