The English planted a spy at Derby who told the Jacobites the English army was close by when in fact it was miles away and London was wide open. Had they advanced then I think history would have been written very differently. Such is fate.

You're right. Bonnie Prince Charlie had a broad Scottish accent and everyone turned up at Cullodem in their clan tartan. Oh and William Wallace wore woad, lived in a mud hut and talked constantly about freedom from the English. Just one final point, because I've wasted too much time on this already, my message to 'all students' to 'question' is not unintended btw. It's absolutely intentional. Hope this helps.
