This show states Taiwan as a nation because it originates from the United States, which is supportive of Taiwan Independence. The U.N does say that Taiwan's Nation Status is null, however when has the United States listened to anything the U.N has said, just look at the invasion of Iraq.
They have a long history of denial and hypocrisy (especially in the recent years) and I think U.S needs to brush up their own act before minding other people's business.
