After many years of hard work, millions of £ in fundraisng, and several test flights, on 3-July-08 the restored Vulcan Bomber XH558 was granted her "Permit to Fly". Seen here departing Bruntingthorpe airfield (her home for the last 15 years) on a trip to Waddington where she will perform her first airshow display since the early 90s. A great reminder of why it was all worth it. (This is my first YoooToooob video, so I hope you enjoy it!)

they lost over 50,000 brave crew, surely UAV tech and guided cruise missiles are the way to go.

It's sad really, I mean think of the exploits of Bomber command in WW2.

Almost certainly not for the next 30 years or so.

Brilliant! I remember, when a small girl, seeing the Vulcan flying near my mum and dad's house. I was transfixed THEN and have been dying to see it again! Not managed to see it at at airshow this year unfortunately but next year I definitely will! I bet it's SOOO loud!!! Great camera work by the way! Check out my vid at Farnborough this year, inferior quality compared to yours! Luv, Gill (a female aviation fan and not a lesbian!)
