A high school state champion in the intermediate hurdles from Idaho, Travis Greene was on scholarship at Boise State when he decided that he needed a break from school and competition, and wanted to do something meaningful with his life. He joined the Marines, and was sent to Iraq. On his 3nd tour of duty, his Humvee hit a mine. He and 3 of his fellow soldiers lost their legs above the knee. One soldier was killed. When we visit Travis at Walter Reed Medical Center, he is still in deep shock from his trauma.

Still think taking time off from shool to do something 'meaningful' was a good idea? This poor guys idea of meaningful must have come from watching too much Fox News.

Oh no. Did they do a story about this guy in TIME a while back? I have a memory of something like it. But that's beside the point. This is war - a litany of broken lives and wasted talent.

A man loses his legs and most here want to be political. Too bad you can't see the big picture.

this marine gave so much to his country while stupid politics continue to play games instead of backing him up
