I think its a CS 336 harris is playing. I love mayer, but I think if he let his band solo more/come more to the forefront, his live show and songwriting would become a lot more diverse and mature.
He's sick, but his band as a whole could get more than just a professional bunch of guys who back mayer; they could become a real collaborative band

the L-5 is played mainly for Jazz stuff like he was playing in the intro. too much bending of the strings will make the guitar go out of tune easily.
when played right (like in the intro) though, it is beautiful!
