Just a comment:
After a while (at that time) I switched to a song by George Thorogood, "I Drink Alone."
The key line is: "When I drink alone, I prefer to be by myself."
This seemed to fit my grief better -- grief can be sweeter when private.
These memories are now warm ones to me, after maturing with time.
Songs that are just part of our radio environment can be very important and valuable, at times in our lives.

I love this song.
I listened to it for hours after my wife passed away -- three years ago.
"I'm leaving on that midnight train to Georgia because I'd rather live in her world than live without her in mine."
It gave me a comfort then, and gives me warm memories now.
I love the dedication expressed by Gladys
