I know how this song could be improved... Use the 12 string guitar piece from the original Tim Buckley recording, with Liz's singing from this version here. That would be the perfect combination!

I got what you meant uwillbe, and I agree. She could read the back of a Pepto-bismol bottle and I'd get choked up.
I actually love the Cocteau gibberish as well. I like the idea of Liz's voice used as more of an instrument than a descriptor now and then, but that said, sometimes I'd really just like to know what the hell she's talking about.

My point was, her voice is so beautiful she could sing from a dictionary, or anybook, for that matter, and I would purchase her recordings.

I think uwillbe is right that sometimes Fraser just sings gibberish, not on this song, but on many others.
I don't think that's a bad thing though. Many of Sigur Ros's lyrics are gibberish too but they're almost my favorite band; it's just part of the mystique.
